This policy explains how The Jesus Corner processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

• Your name, email address and phone number.
• Your delivery address.
• What you ordered, when, and any note you add at checkout.
• Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
• Your email address if you subscribe to our letters.

We do not receive or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Yoco on their secure page.

Why we use it

• To process, deliver and support your order, which is necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To email you about your order: confirmation, shipping and delivery updates.
• To reply to your questions.
• To send you news about new products, only if you have opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• To keep records we are required to keep by law, such as for tax.

Who we share it with

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

• Yoco, to process your payment.
• Our courier, to deliver your parcel (name, address and phone number).
• Resend, which sends our order emails.
• Vercel and Neon, which host our website and database.

Some of these providers store data outside South Africa. We use providers that are bound by agreements and safeguards that give your information a level of protection comparable to POPIA. We never sell your information.

Cookies and browser storage

Your shopping bag is kept in your own browser so it’s there when you come back. We use privacy-friendly analytics that don’t use cookies or identify you. We don’t use advertising trackers.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for five years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Subscriber details are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are deleted once they’re no longer needed.

Keeping it safe

Our website uses encryption in transit, access to order information is limited to the people who run the store, and we use reputable providers with strong security practices.

Your rights

You may ask us to:

• confirm what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct or delete it;
• stop sending you marketing at any time;
• object to how we process it.
